The overlay sits above everything

Presenta runs as a small always-on-top window rather than a slide plugin. That is deliberate: it means it works with Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides, a PDF, or a browser demo, without installing anything into them.

The window is pinned above full-screen presentations, so it does not disappear the moment you enter presenter mode. You can drag it, resize it, dim it, and set the font size for the back of the room.

Your microphone, our servers, your subtitles

The app captures your microphone, converts it to a compact audio stream, and sends it to Presenta over an encrypted connection. Translation happens on our servers using our own provider accounts, and the subtitle text streams straight back.

Nothing is stored. Audio is held only as long as it takes to translate the sentence you are in the middle of, and it is never written to disk.

Days are counted where your event is

A licence day is a calendar day in the time zone you pick at checkout, midnight to midnight. Buy one day for the 5th and it works for all of the 5th where you are standing.

Paste the key as soon as you get it. The app will accept it straight away and show when your window opens, so there is no scramble on the morning of the event.

It expects the venue to misbehave

Conference networks drop. When the connection goes, the app reconnects with backoff and tells you what state it is in rather than going silently blank.

Ten minutes before your licence ends you get a warning on the overlay, and a session already in progress is given a short grace period so it finishes on a sentence rather than mid-word.

What you need on the day

  • A Windows machine with a working microphone, ideally a lapel or headset mic rather than the room.
  • An internet connection. Wired is better than venue wifi if you have the choice.
  • Your licence key, pasted into the app at least once before you walk on.
